Scream Anniversary Brings Matthew Lillard to Dallas
Matthew Lillard joins a Scream anniversary screening and live Q&A at Regal Galaxy Dallas on September 13. Tickets are on sale now.
Scream is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary with a Scream Dallas Screening with Matthew Lillard in attendance. Regal Galaxy Dallas will screen Wes Craven’s 1996 slasher on Sunday, September 13, at 7 p.m., followed by a live question and answer session with the actor who made Stu Macher one of the franchise’s most memorable suspects.
Tickets are on sale through Regal, and the Scream Dallas Screening runs two hours and thirty six minutes to accommodate the film and Lillard’s appearance. The screening is part of a short Texas tour connected to the anniversary and the launch of Lillard’s Ghost Face Vodka.
SCREAM Dallas Screening Details
The Scream Dallas Screening event takes place at Regal Galaxy Dallas, located at 11801 McCree Road. The original Scream will be shown before Lillard joins the audience for questions about the film, its legacy and his experience playing Stu alongside Skeet Ulrich’s Billy Loomis.
The Texas screening tour continues at Regal Edwards Marq’E in Houston on Monday, September 14, at 8 p.m., followed by Regal Westgate in Austin on Tuesday, September 15, at 7:30 p.m. Lillard will also appear at separate Total Wine and More meet and greet events in Dallas and Arlington on September 14.
What We Think
Dallas horror fans have already had several strong opportunities to celebrate Scream during its anniversary year, but seeing the film with Lillard present offers something a standard repertory screening cannot. Stu has remained central to franchise conversations for three decades, and Lillard’s enthusiasm for the movie has made him one of its most visible ambassadors.
Anyone who has met Lillard also knows what an experience it is. He is kind, funny and probably one of the most down-to-earth people you’ll meet, especially someone who has spent so much of his life working in Hollywood. We’ve had the chance to meet him a couple of times over the past few years, and at Texas Frightmare Weekend 2026 we found ourselves in the odd position of wanting to support him even though we didn’t have anything we needed signed. That’s when we realized we could pick up a bottle of RARE, FINE & LIMITED from Macabre Spirits instead.
The September 13 event also arrives early enough in the fall to serve as a natural start to Halloween viewing, while the live conversation should give longtime fans another perspective on a film they may know almost line by line. Anyone interested should purchase tickets soon because the combination of a major horror anniversary, an original cast member and a Dallas appearance gives this screening clear sellout potential.
