Bone Lake (2025)
Bone Lake is a frustrating mix of uncomfortable relationship drama, dark humor, and late-stage horror payoff. The film opens with a memorable shock, drifts through a long stretch of awkward tension and mystery, then finally erupts into violence and chaos in the final act. While the performances are solid and the central mystery keeps the movie moving, the pacing is slow enough that both of you questioned whether it was even a horror movie for much of its runtime. The ending ultimately saves it from a lower rating, but not enough to elevate it beyond a casual recommendation.
