Psycho Killer

Psycho Killer (2026)

Psycho Killer is an intriguing but uneven serial killer thriller that blends crime procedural, mystery, and Satanic conspiracy elements into something that never fully commits to being horror. While the film keeps viewers engaged with an interesting central mystery and a memorable killer, the lack of suspense, inconsistent tone, and surprisingly bright visual style prevent it from becoming the dark, gritty experience its premise promises.

Why Watch Our Review

We break down the biggest question surrounding Psycho Killer: is it actually a horror movie or just a serial killer thriller? We also discuss why the film feels more like Seven than a traditional horror movie, how the bright visual style clashes with the dark subject matter, and why neither of us found the movie particularly scary despite its Satanic serial killer premise. We also dive into Malcolm McDowell’s bizarre Satanic cult compound, the surprisingly likable character Marvin, the over-the-top axe massacre sequence, the conspiracy surrounding the killer’s supposed death, and an ending that left us questioning whether who had been involved in the murders all along.
