Buddy Sing-Along Version returns to theaters nationwide October 2, giving Casper Kelly’s horror-comedy a new interactive theatrical run with on-screen lyrics for the movie’s songs.

Roadside Attractions and Saban Films are encouraging audiences to dress up, sing along and treat the screenings more like a fan event than a standard return engagement. The announced song lineup includes “It’s Buddy!,” “You’ve Got to Be Scared to Be Brave” and “The Wrong Place in Town.”

What Changes in the Buddy Sing-Along Version?

The new presentation adds on-screen lyrics throughout Buddy’s musical numbers so audiences can join in during the film. The distributors have framed the release as an interactive event built around the response the movie has already been getting from fans in theaters.

The sing-along arrives after Buddy opened well above its initial box-office expectations. The film debuted with $5.36 million over its opening weekend, more than doubling the pre-release forecast and giving Roadside Attractions and Saban Films one of their strongest theatrical launches.
