Black Christmas

Black Christmas (2019)

The 2019 remake abandons nearly everything that made the previous films memorable and replaces it with heavy-handed messaging, unlikable characters, and a story that never feels believable or suspenseful. While the film clearly has something it wants to say, the message overwhelms the storytelling to such a degree that neither the horror nor the characters are allowed to breathe. For us, it was easily the weakest entry in the franchise.
