Keeper is an atmospheric horror film that prioritizes mood, symbolism, and unsettling imagery over storytelling, suspense, or character development. While Osgood Perkins once again demonstrates a distinctive visual style and a talent for creating eerie moments, the film's painfully slow pacing, confusing mythology, and emotionally distant characters make it difficult to stay invested in what is happening on screen. For us, the experience felt more frustrating than frightening.
