Sender Theatrical Release Set for Spring 2027 by Dark Sky
The Sender theatrical release is now set for spring 2027. Dark Sky Films has acquired the psychological thriller from writer-director Russell Goldman and plans a nationwide theatrical release in spring 2027.
The film stars Britt Lower as Julia, a newly sober woman trying to rebuild her life when packages she never ordered begin arriving at her home. The items are personal enough to make her suspect that whoever is sending them knows far more about her past than they should.
Sender Gets a Spring 2027 Theatrical Release Window
Dark Sky has not announced an exact release date, so spring 2027 is the current window rather than a firm day on the calendar. The deal follows a festival run that began with Sender premiering in competition at SXSW earlier this year.
The film has since played festivals including Beyond Fest and is headed to Sitges. Dark Sky’s official film page describes the story as a descent into paranoia as Julia searches for the anonymous sender and is forced to confront both her past and the fragile reality she is trying to rebuild.
Britt Lower Leads a Stacked Sender Cast
Lower is joined by Rhea Seehorn, Anna Baryshnikov, David Dastmalchian, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis also produces the film alongside Molly Hallam and Jake Katofsky.
Sender marks Goldman’s feature directorial debut. With the Dark Sky deal now in place, the festival thriller has a path to theaters, even if viewers will have to wait for the distributor to narrow that spring 2027 window to an exact date.
